Bayside Blue V-Spec Takes on Laguna Seca Part II

I am ecstatic to share Part II of my R’s Day at Laguna Seca experience with you.  Sorry guys for the delay in posting because the last couple of days in Los Angeles have been filled last minute shop visits and gatherings.  Also, as you’ve followed our stories, we had to get our cars prep for the 21-hrs, non-stop drive back to Vancouver.  But here we go, let’s relive the moments together through this gallery.

After the Driver's Meeting, everyone started preparing their cars for the track event. My R-34 was very well prepped by Mr. Fujita from Garage Saurus back home, but since it was a fairly hot day, I still have to lower my tire pressure for more grip.   

This is a great rear view to showcase our prototype carbon fibre diffuser and wing stand produced by CW Collective, which my team and I are working on the final testing and to have them launched in early 2018. 

The car is currently running on 275/35R18 Nitto NT01 R-Comp tires with Volk Racing TE37 in 18x11 + 18, which gives it more corner grip on track.  To further enhance the car's high speed turning stability,  I have also installed the front carbon splitter, Autoselect canards, and Voltex Type 4 1800mm GT spoiler before I head down.  Also, this was the last time the Endless 6piston brakes would be used before I switch to the R35 GTR Brembo for better performance.

This HKS build RB26 with T04Z is a great and reliable set up which I have used for six track events within this year.  It was also the last time that this engine setup would be used before I replace it with the HKS 2.8 stroker motor.

Gran Turismo is one of those game series that I have literally grown up with.  I've lost countless hours to GT2 back on the PS1 as a kid.  It has been such an extraordinary experience to have spent some quality time on the track surface of the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca - I was literally dreaming about every turn, that overpass, the famous corkscrew the night before R's Day.  Since it was also my first time on this track, and that I wanted to soak it all in, I did not set a goal in mind.  I had such a great time connecting with new and old friends.  It was definitely more important to me to have given all these  people a ride to experience my car on track than to set the fastest lap record.

After the last session, we lined up for the signature group photo for the R's Day event.  The event was so well executed and everyone gathered at the end of the day to chat about their overall track exepeince.

Ending on a high note, it was such an honour to have won the 1ST PLACE BEST SKYLINE/GTR from R's Day by Skyline Syndicate.
